If we have a failing here at Planet LED TV it is that we like our TV sets BIG, but today we’re looking at a sneaky smaller Sony LED TV! The “sizeism” is a fair criticism and we’ll take it on the chin. However, in the interests of covering the full 3D LED TV market, occassionally (just occassionally) we really should offer a fairer reflection of the wider market and review a small set. Perhaps a TV for the bedroom, spare room or kids room. And so it is we arrive at a new review of the Sony Bravia KDL32EX720 3D LED TV  one of the best small(er) sets on the market.

This little beauty is 32 inches of dynamite. Yes, this wonderful Sony LED TV is full 3D as well as full 1080p HD capabilities. It is without doubt one of the best pictures I have seen on a smaller set and the 3D is also wonderfully good.

The panel resolution is 1920 x 1080 and the LED backlighting provides the user with energy efficiency and a slim design. And, as with all Sony LED TV sets, the contrast provided is stunning. Deep blacks and vivid colors and that small screen crispness ofeers a superb viewing experience in a smaller space.

And, what makes this such a good deal for the kids room or college is that this Sony LED TV boasts Internet TV which offers an almost infinite choice when it comes to media and other internet capabilities.

Sony’s X-Reality Engine combined with the Motionflow 240 technology offer you a life like picture which is clear and has a smooth motion through which live action seems at your fingertips. The set has a high quality LED screen with side lit LCD display.

This Sony 3D TV is true 1080p and Hi-def capable. There are some limitations to the processes though. You will need to take time to adjust your picture settings, but the colors will be just like you are seeing them in real-life. The Sony Bravia 3D TV has the 3D transmitter built in. You don’t have to purchase an external transmitter.

Unfortunately, while the 3D effects are excellent, the best results can only be seen if you watch from a native 3D source, like Blu Ray for example. The artificial 3D option works reasonably well and allows you to play PC games without having to use NVidia 3D vision or 3DTV Play drivers. But I am not a fan of 2D to 3D converters, they just don’t offer anywhere near the quality of a native 3D source.

This Sony LED TV keeps up 240Hz frames per second and doesn’t have to back pedal to 24 frames per second to catch up. It may also be necessary to adjust the Sony 32 inch 3D TV in the depth effect in order to remove any ghosting effects. This obviously helps ensure a smooth, crisp image is retained even at the fasted paced action sequences

There are four HDMI 1.4 ports on this Sony LED TV. There is no adjustment needed to hook up the internet, just hook up an Ethernet and you’re in. You will need an additional wi-fi adapter if you want to hook up via a wireless connection though.

The post swivels and has six degrees of adjustable backward tilt. Like all Sony products, the Sony Bravia KDL32EX720 is compatible with the Sony Playstation 3. The firmware of the TV can be updated and you don’t even need to have internet connectivity to do it. The set itself only weighs 25 lbs so you don’t need to worry about putting your back out to move it or the set to tear out the studs in your wall!

Great For The Smaller Viewing Area

Overall this is a superb set for the kitchen, bedroom, kids room etc. It offers everything the bigger sets offer, although because it’s Sony the price tag is a little more than competitor sets of the same size and functionality. Having said all of that, you won’t go far wrong with the Sony Bravia KDL32EX720 3D LED TV. The technology is great, it’s stable and offers great longevity so value in the longer run. And of course, it’s a stunning viewing experience, which, when we get right down to it, is what we all want from a new 3D or LED TV.
