Vizio TV – XVT3D650SV 65 Inch 3D LED
Vizio TV release their first 65 inch television the VIZIO XVT3D650SV 3D LED TV and it is now on the market.
While the Vizio has been making 3D TVs for quite a while, this new model is their largest yet. If you read my articles regulalrly you will know that I’ve been praising Vizio for the technological advances they have been making in their TV sets – this new 65 Inch 3D Vizio TV is the logical conclusion. The more advanced technology allowing the bigger screen.
This change in technology also flips Vizio in the “cinema” TV world, you can now wear “passive” polarized 3D glasses instead of the bulkier, more traditional and expensive active shutter glasses. You receive four pairs of these glasses, two are premium, two are basic.
The picture itself is a full High Definition 1080p resolution which is currently the best LED TV you can buy and it shows in a stunning on screen image. The Vizio 65 inch utilizes circular polarized 3D technology which gives viewers a more comfortable and easier viewing.
This wonderful 3D LED TV has 120 Hz refresh rate and the screen ratio is 1,000,000:1 which makes it one of the highest definition sets on the market. This offers an incredible depth of detail.
The set is complete with SRS TruSurround HDTM and SRS TruVolume audio, although, personally I would always prefer to hook up a surround sound system. The set also benefits from automatic Ambient light sensing technology and exceeds the Energy Star 4.1 guidelines and helps save money and energy.

are five HDMI ports (as opposed to a standard four) which you can connect all manner of HD devices and there is ethernet and USB for your computer. The Vizio 3D TV can surf the web with built-in internet apps through its built in dual band WiFi.
The Vizio TV is ready to play any number of devices from your favorite game systems to your Blu-ray player to your 3D and HD cable television provider. The TV has a great deal more power than a typical 2D television would, and at a 65 inch screen size presentation is stunning.
Finally the picture (which let’s face it is the most important part). The images are crisp and clear with vivid colors and excellent black definition. But what I really like about the XVT3D650SV is the 3D presentation. It really does jump out of the screen and is stable and more immersive than many 3D TV sets I’ve watched. It really was rather impressive. I was also impressed at how the image integrity held in 3D during fast paced action. Yes, I know cinema TV helps in this area with the reduction in crosstalk, but nonetheless I was seriously impressed.
This really is a superb TV set that offers universal capabilities, a true entertainment centre…at a superb price. Vizio are known for their value for money, but they are also now delivering on quality and features as well. If you have a large viewing area and want to go 3D with all the bells and whistles but don’t want to pay a Sony or Samsung price a Vizio TV and the XVT3D65SV 3D LED in particular offers brilliant performance at a very attractive price.

Vizio TV were once considered to be the manufacturers of inferior products in terms of their high definition televisions. However, their new range, called the XVT, has altered perceptions of the company with consumers and industry insiders alike. People have been impressed by the technology incorporated into these TV sets, the quality of their output, and their competitive pricing. The Vizio TV - XVT3D424SV 3D LED is one of the models in this range which is particularly impressive. So, we set out to have a look at this Vizio TV, review review it and tell you what we think.
Vizio TV 3D Razor Series – Ultra Thin
The XVT3D424SV Vizio TV has a forty-two inch screen size and is part of the Razor series named because of its extremely thin profile. It produces full HD pictures at 1080p. At this resolution there are over two million pixels displayed, therefore the picture quality is stunningly sharp and clear. The television also has a ten million to one dynamic contrast ratio, resulting in very deep, rich blacks, and bright whites. These effects are further enhanced by the smart dimming feature, which controls each zone of LEDs independently in order to produce the most vibrant and vivid colors. All this combined offers an image of amazing precision and superb contrasts.
Edge Lit Screen at 480Hz Refresh
This Vizio TV has edge lit LED technology. Its TruLED technology combines with the smart dimming feature to back light the TV is such a way as to make images exceptionally clear and well defined. In addition, this Vizio TV has a wide color viewing angle, meaning that wherever an image is being viewed from it will retain its vibrant colors. Some TVs can lose that vibrancy of color if you watch from a wider angle.

hundred and eighty scenes every second by combining 240Hz with a scanning backlight. This prevents any blurring or loss of detail during sports or movies with fast action sequences. However, some reviewers have commented that this can display a lot of extra detail due to this increased refresh rate. This can sometimes result in the backgrounds in movies and shows appearing to be very false, which can detract from the picture overall. Vizio XVT – Superb 3D TV
One feature of this Vizio HD TV which has to be mentioned is its 3D capabilities. The XVT series of televisions display full HD 3D images. The Theatre 3D technology which is incorporated ensures that the pictures are incredibly clear, and without the flickering which is seen in some 3D televisions.
Great features on the Vizio XVT3D424SV
The pictures are also very bright and vivid. The glasses which accompany this Vizio 3D TV use active shutter technology. Active shutter glasses work by alternatively darkening and lightening the lenses on the left and right sides in time with the refresh rate of the television. This tricks the brain into seeing the images in 3D. One of the complaints about 3D has been that when the timing of the glasses is out images can appear to be blurred (this is what is termed “crosstalk”). The technology provided by the Vizio 3D TV should ensure that this is not the case, however.
Integral Wi-Fi
With wi-fi technology and easy access to the internet, this Vizio TV can be used for more than just watching television shows. Vizio Internet Apps allow a huge range of content to be utilized, including live video streaming, internet radio, and social networking sites. All of this can be controlled with a Bluetooth remote which has a slide out qwerty keyboard. The TV also has four HDMI ports and a USB port. With these wireless and connectivity options it can be seen to be a complete entertainment hub.
Vizio TV – Close To The “Big Time”!
Overall Vizio’s leap into the big league is very welcomed and the TV sets they are now marketing are very good indeed. They are full of great features and I am so happy to see integral wi-fi as standard. What I also like is that Vizio are keeping the price down. They haven’t quite reached the level of Sony or Samsung and are still a way behind LG, but…they now offer a stable product that offers an outstanding viewing experience with loots of good solid features and all this at excellent value for money prices. The Vizio XVT3D424SV is another excellent addition and you will be absolutely delighted if you are looking for a cost effective 3D TV solution that will provide excellent performance and viewing.

From the technical point of view, it consists of edge lit RazorLED backlighting with Smart Dimming (more on this later) for a brilliant clarity of picture. It’s razor thin design makes it damn good to look at as well!

Back to the tech…a 120Hz refresh rate which gives you a sharper, blur free images which when coupled with the full 1080p HD and 1,000,000 to 1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio delivers a stunning picture on a 37 inch screen. With rich deep deeper blacks and brighter whites through contrast and dimension, this Vizio LED HD TV renders every image with an amazing precision, color and contrast.

From the viewers piont of view this Vizio TV reall does give a superb picture quality. Some say it is simply amazing! The smart dimming is a really interesting features as well. Whilst it is not as effective as local dimming on a full-array LED, it does work well and definitely enhances the contrast. Whilst it doesn’t follow movement quite as well as local dimming it definietly enhances the image. The contrast and particularly shadow quality is really good, and the colors are bright and lively. The elevated color comparison can’t be overlooked in this HDTV either; colors that look usually grey on other TV sets uncover their subtle tones in this TV.

At 37 inches, you don’t need the full range of LED Technology available, but with this Vizio LED you get more than enough to deliver an outstanding quality picture that is crisp and life-like.
The sound system, provides you with an “immersive virtual high definition sound experience” with SRS TruSound HD premium audio processing and SRS TruVolume which eliminates volume inconsistencies between programming. I guess the sound system is about as good as you get on a flat screen TV, it is better than many, but if you want a proper experience I would sill hook up a surround sound system for movies, action and sport.
As with all LED TV sets, the Vizio XVT373SVexceeds ENERGY STAR 4.1 standards and is therefore very energy efficient, it will help the energy bills. This Vizio XVT373SV creates very little heat, even if we use it for a long time.
One of the major highlights of this great Vizio LED has got to be the Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) feature. It comes pre-loaded with Flickr, Netflix,
Twitter, Rhapsody, Amazon Instant Video, VUDUU and Yahoo! TV Widgets. You need a high-speed internet connection for this content, and the XVT373SV has a Wireless-N adapter integral – Vizio are leading the way with integral wi-fi and well done Vizio, it is included in most Vizio TV sets. It does allow for an ethernet connection as well.

The bottom line is that the Vizio 3D LED TV the XVT373SV is an outstanding LED TV set. Indeed, just to confirm the amazing value for money, this set is currently selling on Amazon at just $598 (July 2011). If you have a smaller view area and are looking to upgrade to LED / 3D you won’t go far wrong with this 3D TV.
Vizio have eally improved their technology in the last 18 months, so this Vizio TV delivers superb performance at a very attractive price. I highly recommend you check this great value / high performance TV out.

Who are Vizio? 12 months ago it would have been a valid question. Vizio TV sets no matter whether Vizio LCD or Vizio LED TVs were pretty shoddy. Yes, prices were cheap, and so was quality. However…things are changing! The latest Vizio 55 Inch 3D LED TV is an absolute stunner! With the XVT3D554SC, Vizio have upped their game and joined the big league…and at a very attractive price! So it’s time to give a good Vizio review!
Compare the picture on this new model to past Vizio efforts and it will take your breathe away. The picture is the main priority when you look at buying a new TV and in ther past its fair to say you would not have gone for a Vizio as first choice.
Vizio LED TV Reviews!
To be honest, I hadn’t even noticed the late 2010 release of this new Vizio 3D TV, until a Buddy pointed out that it had a screen refresh of 480Hz. Now that made me sit up and take notice. So far only LG are playing at that level. Sony’s 480Hz offerings are on pre-order now. And, then I noticed a really good review of the TV on Amazon…and then another. So, I bookmarked the page and checked again a week later. Another really good review.
So, I took myself off to my local store to see if I could search one out and have a look. It did take me a while to find a stockist, but in the end I found a store with a very obliging sales person and had a look for myself.
Now the first thing to say is that when TVs are being shown in store they really turn the color and brightness right up, I suppose it’s because of the neon lighting in store.
But still, it was a picture that demonstrated startling clarity. It was crisp and the images ere really “in your face”. The colors were a bit off, and I woulkd certainly have done some serious calibration, but bearing in mind it was on shop or more likely factory settings it was very impressive. Especially in the dark ranges.
True Vizio 3D TV
So, the acid test, what was 3D like on this Vizio LED TV? If you’re going 3D you’re doing so for a reason so it has to be good, and some are not! However, again I was very pleasantly surprised. The depth is really very good, as good as the new Samsung 3D’s I reckon…and that is saying something.The stability and clarity of the 3D image was excellent.

As always there is some crosstalk (3D image blur), but it was only at the very edges of the picture, generally the 3D image was sound. Most 3D sets these days have the ability to turn normal 2D images into 3D, that feature was not wodnerfully good on this TV! Having said that its patchy at best on most 3D TVs.
Some Other Interesting Facts About This Vizio 3D LED TV
Now, one of my crusades. Integral wi-fi – YES! Indeed, the XVT3D554SC has wi-fi as standard so you can hook straight up to your home network and get access to a whole load of great web content. A lot of it HD and some of it 3D. Vizio Internet Apps (or VIA as they like to call it) offers some great content. The set also has an Ethernet connection if you like to hard wire your TV up to the home network.
And, having VIA allows you access to all sorts of wonderful things inlcuding some fo social media via your TV. So, the remote as a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out from underneath the main remote control. How cool is that! I have to say I found it a little awkward to use and it was a bit awkward to use around the edges of the keyboard.

But if you’re used to Android of Blackberrys I think you’ll be O.K with it. And I’m sure I could get used to it.
This is more than just a TV…it’s an entire entertainment system! You will need to invest some time to get your set up right and to make the most of all of the plethora of incredible features this set offers. But your patience is rewarded!
Most people will never use all of them but there is something amazingly new and cool for everyone.
The LED backlit technology, 480hz refresh rate on the crisp 55 screen boasting full 1080p HD offers a stunning picture quality. And the integral wireless Internet gives us a real glimpse into the future of home entertainment. The 3D just adds another exciting dimension that you simply MUST experience to fully appreciate.
I was amazed because even my wife loved it when she came to meet up with me. This new Vizio 55 inch 3D LED TV is outstanding. Like the XVT3D554SC you should make your next TV backlit LED, in 3D and make sure it has the integral wireless and internet aps – the other manufactirers are starting to do this, most still insist on an “add on”. Also, like Vizio make sure you get firmware updates. This brilliant Vizio 3D LED TV offers all this here and now and makes it affordable too – highly recommended and I really didn’t think I was going to say that!
