What Is 1080p LED TV?

1080p LED TV For Great Pictures
In this latest of our LED TV related articles we ask the question What Is 1080p LED TV? And, does it make a difference…to find out, read on…
A 1080p LED TV has some of the best and most advanced TV technology on the market today. It far outranks the older 720p when it comes to resolution. However, just as important as the receiving television set is the projecting technology is the resolution of the signal into your set.
How Important is 1080p LED TV?
If you are being sent information made for a 720p then your resolution is only going to to get a 720p resolution image even if you have a 1080p set! The converse is also true, for example if you have a Blu Ray player which puts out information at 1080p, but your set is only 720p, your set won’t be able to translate at a higher pixel rate.
And that’s exactly what the “p” stands for, so with more pixels on a 1080p LED TV it stands to reason the picture you get will be more detailed and therefore crisper, clearer and just that little bit brighter. And of course there will be less image blur as well.

Samsung Make Superb 1080p LED TV sets
Comparing further, a 1080p HD set will have a wider range of resolution to receive and play properly. They will still be able to handle SD resolution, but HD resolution won’t be out of the range of capability. A full 1080p set will handle SDTV at a higher resolution, but you won’t get advanced resolution if the signals you are receiving are not up to the technology you can provide.
On a base level 720p represents 720 vertical lines going across your screen. 1080p represents 1080 vertical lines going across the screen. The “p” of 1080p stands for progressive as opposed to “i” of 1080i which means interlaced.
As a simple comparison, watching fast paced movies or sports events, a 1080p will be able to respond faster to the movement of action while the 1080i may have a bit of lag or blurriness in the picture or around the edges.
Size is not always a determination of resolution. Make sure your television statesit is a 1080p, don’t just assume because it is a 50 inch that you are going to get the kind of resolution you want. A full 1080p LED television will provide you with the kind of images that are only rivaled by your own vision.
A 1080p LED TV is technologically superior to many other types and can be found with most major retailers, like Sony, Vizio, Samsung and others. As far as which brand is the best, that is all determined on how much you want to pay and how much voting you want to do with your money. Sony and Samsung might be more expensive than a Vizio but you’ll likely get more options.
LG Great New Technology at a Great Price
