What is the Largest TV?

The LG LZ9700 The World's Largest LED TV - At The Moment!
LG released the largest LED TV in the world and caused a sensation at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas by unveiling the their new massive seventy-two inch LED 3D TV, the LG LZ9700. Apart from its size, which makes it the world’s largest LED TV ever produced, when it hits the streets it will boast a huge array of very impressive features. So, prior to release, I decided to have a look at exactly what you’re going to get for what I expect will be quite a bit of money!
World’s Largest LED TV So Far
Due to the fact that this is the world’s largest TV (putting aside rear projection and the like) the first thing to check out must be the picture quality, after all it’s why you buy a LED TV isn’t it? The LG LZ9700 incorporates a wealth of technology to produce pictures which are crisp, clear, and colorful in either 2D or 3D. It has full high definition at 1080p, and LG’s TruMotion technology produces a screen refresh rate of an impressive 480Hz. This ensures that motion is smooth and fluid, and really enhances the experience of watching action movies or sports.
Also incorporated in this television is LG’s full LED technology. A full panel of LEDs positioned directly behind the screen back light it produces an astonishing picture clarity. This is aided by LG’s Micro Pixel Control, which improves localised dimming. This has the effect of making blacks deeper, colors more vivid, and of creating a crystal clear image.
The picture quality on the LG LZ9700 is quite astonishing, especially given that it does have such a massive screen at 72 inches. This does mean, though, that it produces a viewing experience which is unrivalled and unique. This is especially true when watching images in 3D, although 2D images are also extremely impressive. In addition to superior picture quality, however, modern television buyers are looking for more for their money.
LG LZ9700
In this regard the LG LZ9700 does not disappoint either, as it is a fully equipped Smart TV. LG’s NetCast will be incorporated, meaning that users will have access to a huge range of entertainment features, including an integrated web browser. Worldwide and local content will be available, as well as thousands of apps available for download.
Previous users of NetCast have been able to use services from YouTube, Netflix, and Skype, and no doubt these features will also be installed on the new LZ9700. Skype is particularly exciting as it will allow people to call each other for free using their TVs. All of the content is located through the Home Dashboard, which has been designed to be extremely simple to navigate. Menus are accessed using the Magic Motion remote control, which utilises technology similar to that which is found in the Nintendo Wii. This is much easier than traditional TV remotes to operate.
Largest 3D TV
In short LG have attempted, with the LZ9700, to give their customers the best viewing and entertainment experience possible, something that moves the TV experience to “the next level”. Time (and sales) will tell if they have achieved this when the world’s largest LED TV is finally released, although with the excitement it has already generated it does not seem likely that anybody will be disappointed. Now we wait with baited breathe to find out…how much!!!
How long will LG hold the title of World’s Largest TV? I’m betting not too long…Samsung have already released a 75 Inch TV in their homeland, watch this space we’ll soon be asking the question “What Is The Largest TV?” again!
